You may already know I have one of my grandchildren over for dinner on a one on one basis. The time is filled with joy, adoring wonder and fascinating conversation. They each say, “Dee Dee, when are we going to have a conversation?” Kids are so open, believing what is shared as ultimate truth. This is why we should take a moment, pause and reflect what we share with kids…and think about what is overheard.
The human is fascinating, we all grow up with certain belief systems absorbed through family generations, friends and society until we consciously ask, is this what I truly believe? Last week Julia and I went to the store, we talked of homeless people with cardboard signs, asking for funds or job. Julia shared that one had to be sure the person was homeless and not a trio of people trying to get money. She heard this from extended family members. Our conversation evolved around giving. I shared that when giving, we don’t know the intention of the person asking, that the giving is really for the giver. I explained that the giving, especially to those we don’t know actually fills us up with so much love we feel like floating. We’re the ones receiving, and by following The Law of Giving we receive oodles of abundance that can happen at any given time.
Those of us, who have learned our money lessons well, know that giving out of fear doesn’t work. Judging whether a person needs the money isn’t following Universal Law. There was a time when I almost lost my home…food was scarce. I thought of giving up until I surrendered everything including my life. So much Light came in, giving me an opportunity to learn all about the glorious exchange of money. The deepest gratitude arrives within us and remains there as long as we allow. The flow of money begins and continues when we allow our daily lives to be guided by universal law. It has no other choice but to honor what we hold in thought. So the next time you see a homeless person, or know someone struggling…give with a full heart in honor, as you are the one receiving.
