12-17-20 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #423 is an hour of visionary acoustic musical improv featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, acoustic guitar, dulcimer and kalimba, Robin Rooney on djimbe, percussion and vocals, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums.  Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts in December of 2020, today’s show begins with the lovely, expansive “Let’s Open Our Eyes”, a folk ballad with a gospel flair, before moving into a moon song from Mariam, the mystical “In The Cool Of The Evening”, featuring a gorgeous vocal from Mariam and floating countermelodies from Robin.  A beautiful, dramatic piano coda from Bob brings us into “To Watch The River”, a compelling, floating piece of music characterized by Mariam’s chiming dulcimer and gorgeous native flute.  Mariam leads the next number, “Cathedrals In The Forest” with earthy kalimba plucks that set the tone for a somber, minimalist groove on this trancelike number.  Ever morphing and expanding through a series of movements, some driven and energized, some retiring and gentle, “Cathedrals In The Forest” sprawls languidly, a floating trance experience to manifest peace.
