Rizwan Virk10-25-23 Wisdom of a Yogi with Rizwan Virk

Cynthia Sue Larson talks with Rizwan Virk about lessons we can learn from the Autobiography of a Yogi, including: the value of setbacks on our path, karmic and unexpected lessons, and the value of practicing every day.  Virk describes how Simulation Theory can be viewed from a materialistic perspective with NPC (non-player characters), or it can be seen as involving RPG (role-playing game characters) in which individuals have the ability to experience making choices resulting in changes to physical reality.  Virk shares miraculous stories of saints with ‘two bodies’ who bilocate, and the value of practicing yoga in order that we can stop the generation of whirlpools of thoughts and feelings that otherwise can harden into karma.  There is an ancient Sanskrit meaning to the word, ‘Avatar,’ that helps to clarify how we can view ensoulment as occurring when we put on a game headset or are embodied into a human body when we are born.  With awareness that we are living in a Simulation, and have the ability to influence reality, magic and miracles are possible.

Virk is a graduate of MIT and Stanford. He is a successful entrepreneur, video game pioneer, film producer, venture capitalist, and computer scientist. Rizwan was the founder of Play Labs @ MIT and is currently doing a PhD and teaching classes at the College of Global Futures and the Fulton Schools of Engineering @ Arizona State University. Virk is the bestselling author of books such as The Simulation Hypothesis; Startup Myths & Models; Treasure Hunt; and Zen Entrepreneurship. Virk is a venture partner at Griffin Gaming Partners, one of the leading video game VC funds in the world, and has invested in many successful startups including Discord, Theta Labs, Upland and Tapjoy.
