12-06-17  Fearless Frontiers with Adrianne Haslet

Adrianne Haslet is an active blade runner, dancer, adventurer, and a fierce global advocate for amputee rights. Growing up in her parent’s independent bookstore with her two older brothers, she learned the meaning of hard work, commitment, and sticking to your dreams. At an early age, Adrianne decided she wanted to be Ginger Rogers when she grew up. Sticking to that dream with the support of an artistic family, she struggled but was able to make that dream a reality. The quote rings true to anyone seeking success in their own lives “When someone tells you it cannot be done, it’s more of a reflection of their limitations, not yours.”

During her recovery, Adrianne was determined to turn tragedy into opportunity to help others. She has become a strong voice for the amputee community, supporting organizations that share her value for helping others. This journey began shortly after losing her leg, when Adrianne was connected with Limbs for Life.

As she learned about their mission and was drawn to their shared passion and contacted them to get involved. Since that first call, Adrianne has dedicated herself to direct fundraising and advocacy for Limbs for Life, donating fly miles and hotel points, giving speeches on their behalf, and encouraging others to give the gift of mobility.

Adrianne’s story came full circle in 2016, when she herself ran the Boston Marathon on behalf of Limbs for Life, raising over $25,000 to support their work. She inspired thousands of spectators along the route, particularly when she triumphantly – and defiantly – crossed the finish line. www.adriannehaslet.com
