A Pathway of Humbleness

08-09-17  A Pathway of Humbleness

In this live talk from 2014, David shares his pathway to humbleness on his awakening journey. When we take our steps on our spiritual journey, we encounter our own ego and the meaningless thought system of separateness it would have us maintain. The undoing of this thought system requires only that we instead turn our attention to the Spirit within.

In the beginning, we may notice resistance to following this inner Guide, thinking we know better and thereby struggling to take instructions from a Wisdom greater than that of our intellect.  But as we move inward to a place of stillness, simplicity, and silence, we begin to experience a more humble way of being, and recognize how helpful this way of being actually is for our peace of mind. Learning to be truly helpful and say only what needs to be said in any given moment becomes our sole purpose. Infinite happiness is the inevitable result of such a humble way of being.

Free Your Mind from Suffering

07-26-17  Free Your Mind from Suffering

We hold many thoughts and beliefs about ourselves in our unconscious minds that we don’t even know exist. These beliefs are serious blocks that hold us back from experiencing true inner peace. On the spiritual journey, we uncover more and more of our dark, hidden beliefs, and release them with the Spirit’s help. As we go deeper, we get to look at our attachments to guilt, self hatred, body issues, money problems, and thoughts of unworthiness. Through meditation, deep prayer and following the Spirit’s guidance, we let go of all we thought we were and return to the truth: that we are innocent Spirit. It is helpful to look at our darkness in a safe way, together with trusted companions, and these companions will show up on our journey when we need them. In this way we shall experience the Light and the Joy that has been obscured, but has never truly left us. The Kingdom of Heaven is within!

Letting Go of the World

07-12-17  Letting Go of the World

The ego would have us believe that in order to be happy, we must satisfy ourselves with the things that the world offers: a good education, a good job, good health, and good friends. It tells us that once we have “enough” of the good things, we will be happy. Yet, it simply keeps us chasing happiness in the future, never finding it where it actually is.

Just as Jesus taught “Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven within…”, he is still instructing us today through the modern-day spiritual masterpiece known as A Course in Miracles. Contrary to the ego’s plan for happiness, Jesus teaches us that i

f we devote our life to remembering our true nature, everything will fall into place. We can let go of the world, let go of all worldly concerns, and trust our Intuition (the Holy Spirit) to tell us what to do moment by moment. Such is the way of peace.

Awakening Can Be Gentle

06-28-17  Awakening Can Be Gentle

Description: Spiritual awakening does not have to be a struggle. On the contrary, we can learn to be very gentle and kind with ourselves as we practice A Course in Miracles or whatever our spiritual path seems to be.  We need only to show up to life willing to be truly helpful, but without attempting to determine how we should be helpful.

We will find that whatever message we are guided to deliver to others is what we most need to hear. This can be fun! At times our ego mind can get caught up in the past or the future, but more and more we will remember to rest in the present moment and let our mind become empty as the Buddha taught.

Jesus tells us in A Course in Miracles that this course will be believed entirely or not at all. What this really means is that we must choose to relinquish illusions entirely if we would be happy. The ego can interpret this as a sacrifice or loss, but really there is nothing to lose. We are simply returning to our natural, loving state of being, and this Self that we are is Glorious!
