Devotion and the Key to Happiness

04-19-17   Devotion and the Key to Happiness

Description: When setting out on the path of Self-discovery, it can seem like a daunting task of undoing all that we thought we knew. We have lots of preconceived ideas about ourselves and the world, and we are now being invited to open up to a whole new way of perceiving everything!

In order to achieve true Happiness we must become devoted to this purpose 100%. Happiness requires trust and a willingness to follow our intuitive inner guide without compromise.

In this episode, mystic David Hoffmeister shares how by following the Spirit in this Purpose, he was led around the world to spend time with many dedicated A Course in Miracles teachers and students. He shares some of the pitfalls the ego mind can get into and how everything always works together for good. By opening to the perception that we all share only one mind, he was able to move through the ego’s games and enter into a deep state of consistent peace.

The Happy Dream

04-05-17  The Happy Dream

Description: We try and find happiness in relationships, jobs, and money, but all the while it seems just out of reach. So we continue to plan, hoping to find what we are looking for. But even our plans conflict because there always seem to be more options. The ego loves to plan, to keep us moving and second-guessing ourselves. It would always have us believe that we would be happy if only something were different than how it is now. And so we go along thinking that the next place, or the next job, or the next relationship will make us happy, believing there is something more than this moment.

Through A Course in Miracles, Jesus is offering us the means to stop following the ego’s plan and to begin following the Spirit’s instead. The “Happy Dream” is an experience in which we are fully trusting in the Divine, convinced that everything is taken care of through the following of intuitive guidance.

In this episode of Awakening to True Happiness, David shares parables of his own listening and following guidance, as he was unwound from the world’s way of thinking. He shares how he gained trust by listening to and following the Holy Spirit over and over, until he found himself abiding within a constant state of happiness and love.

Toward a Rapid Awakening

03-22-17 Toward a Rapid Awakening

Description: Your spiritual awakening can be relatively rapid, and two of the fastest ways are through silence and relationship. Spending time in silent prayer or meditation is a great way to stir up everything up in the mind that was unconscious. And relationships (not just romantic) will also mirror everything in your unconscious so you can see all those thoughts and forgive them.

It still may take some time for your grievances and attack thoughts to come up fully into awareness, but your progress depends solely on your willingness and desire to know the truth. Do you really want to experience nothing but the truth? And are you willing to let everything up that was hidden up into awareness that it may be released? Thankfully, the blocks that seem to be in your way are not real, and so this awakening need not be a struggle. Each illusion will gently dissolve each time you join with Spirit in your heart, and you will rejoice in the awareness of What You Are!

Love is Our Source

03-08-17  Love is Our Source

The goal of spiritual practice is to be in the flow of presence, to be tuned into Spirit. Decision-making becomes simple and easy when this is the case, for we can ride the intuitive flow of our heart and trust in our Spirit-Given destiny.

The ego, on the other hand, is the attempt to think apart from God. As long as we are invested in the world of form, the experience of flow escapes us. True forgiveness is necessary to see the world in a unified way so that our vision is clear. We can become just as invested in peace of mind as we were in specific outcomes that the world is always seen from this higher perception.

Who is our source? Love is our Source. When we accept that, everything changes.

This recording of David Hoffmeister took place at the Columbine Unity Spiritual Center on June 15, 2015  in Boulder, Colorado.
