Who was Bruno Groening?
Bruno Groening was born in 1906 in Gdansk (Germany at the time). As a young boy, he already noticed that he had been born with special powers. He experienced repeatedly how sick animals and people were healed in his presence. As the son of a bricklayer foreman, it was his father’s desire for him to learn a building trade, so he studied carpentry. Because of the economic destitution in his hometown of Gdansk, he could not complete his apprenticeship. Until shortly before the end of World War 2, he accepted various types of work. In 1945, he was drafted by the German army and shortly thereafter, became a Russian prisoner of war. After being released, he found a temporary home in Dillenburg (West Germany). In 1949, an engineer from Herford who had heard of Groening’s healing powers, asked him to visit his bedridden son, Dieter, who was suffering from muscular dystrophy.
Bruno Groening spoke to the nine year old boy and instructed him to get up from the bed and come to him. The boy immediately got up from the bed and walked towards him, although in a handicap way and within a week the boy was completely healthy again. Deeply touched, the engineer asked Groening to stay as his guest. He invited more sick people to his home who were also healed. In a very short time, the news of the Miracle of Herford spread like wild-fire, whereupon thousands of people streamed to the house of the engineer.
A short time later, officials imposed a healing ban, because he had not been trained as a doctor or healing practitioner. Afterwards, he withdrew to the Traberhof, in Rosenheim (Bavaria) and through media reports his whereabouts became known. Within days up to 30,000 people gathered outside the Traberhof and mass healings were reported. This news spread across Germany and abroad to Europe, United States and other countries. Shortly thereafter, another healing ban was imposed again.
In his lectures, Bruno Groening informed interested listeners of the basis of healing on the spiritual path. He told the people that when he is no longer on this Earth, he will still be able to help them further and they will be able to experience healing from within.
What is the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends?
In1979, twenty years after his death, Grete Haeusler started the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, in which his teachings were passed on. Mrs. Haeusler, a teacher originally from Austria, suffered from three incurable diseases. In 1950, she was healed after attending one of Bruno Groening’s lectures. By 2007, the year in which she passed away, she managed to start communities in all parts of the world. Today the Circle of Friends is led by her son Dieter Haeusler.
The Bruno Groening Circle of Friends consists of tens of thousands of people from more than 100 countries, all involved on a voluntary basis and loosely connected through the spirit of helping. The Circle of Friends pays all expenses through voluntary donations.
In the mid 1980’s, individual physicians started to have an interest in this path. Today, thousands of physicians and members of other health care professions all over the world help to record the healings and document them according to scientific criteria.
Every year medical lecture tours and information events are held from North America to Australia and from Northern Europe to South Africa. There are many books and additional literature in over 37 languages along with numerous DVDs and music CDs. Additionally, a documentary film about the life and work of Bruno Groening has been shown nationally and internationally for the past ten years which features testimonies from eyewitnesses.
