Dogs Dig Our Bone Broth!

This week, Dr. Judy welcomes classically trained Chef, Product Development Specialist and Co-Founder of Primalvore Holistic Canine Nutrition, Don Hensley, coming to us from Des Moines, Iowa. Don grew up in Dallas but as a teenager, moved across several states. He later attended the Culinary Institute of America to become a professional chef and worked at a country club, a hotel and even his own restaurant and bakery. In 2011, Don went to work for a food scientist from New Zealand to develop clean label, organic products for the U.S. restaurant market. In 2015 he worked with Kettle and Fire to develop the first shelf stable bone broth for humans and shortly thereafter he developed a version for pets. Smokey, Don’s 90 pound pit/lab rescue, dealt with various allergies and joint issues, and was the inspiration behind Primalvore. This is the only Superfood Bone Broth formulated specifically for dogs and their needs with the addition of collagen peptides to promote the health of bones and joints, strong nails and shiny coats. Whether your dog is a puppy, adult or senior, be sure to tune in to hear Don and Dr. Judy discuss the many ways a quality bone broth can help keep your dog healthy and happy for years to come.

A Passion for Keeping Animal Homes Safe

Join Dr. Judy as she welcomes back her internationally renowned colleague, speaker and author, Dr. Melissa Shelton, owner of Crow River Animal Hospital in Howard Lake, Minnesota, where her work with the medical use of Essential Oils began in 2008.  While dedicating her practice solely to the research and advancement of veterinary aromatherapy since 2011, she had concerns that essential oils produced with humans in mind were not appropriate or even safe for use with animals.  So, in 2014, she introduced her own line of veterinary essential oil products – anímálEOTM – where she personally evaluates every essential oil going into her products, ensuring they will be as perfect as possible. Dr. Shelton has always been dedicated to providing accurate, honest and documented information regarding essential oil use, and willingly shares her knowledge and experiences through her love of teaching and writing.  She has taught in locations across the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan and her online courses are available world-wide.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Dr.  Shelton discuss with Dr. Judy her efforts in advancing veterinary aromatherapy to keep animals everywhere safer and healthier.

Judy Morgan DVM, CVA, CVCP, CVFT Bio

Dr. Morgan grew up in Pitman and Woodstown, NJ, where she graduated high school as valedictorian in 1977. In 1980 she graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Science and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Morgan is also a certified and accredited veterinary acupuncturist, chiropractitioner, and food therapist.

Based in southern New Jersey, Dr. Morgan currently operates two veterinary hospitals that offer an integrative approach combining holistic medicine with traditional Western techniques. Holistic practices such as chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal therapy, are utilized alongside conventional medicine to provide a full range of veterinary treatment.

The ability to utilize both kinds of therapies offers her clients many more options than using a single method of healing. In many cases, using this approach also allows earlier identification and treatment of impending problems.

Outside of the office Dr. Morgan spends much of her time working with Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and English Toy Spaniel rescue groups by assisting in finding, transporting, and fostering neglected animals. She is Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for Monkey’s House dog hospice and senior sanctuary. She also enjoys public speaking and giving presentations at local and national continuing education venues.

Do you live out of the area but would love to receive holistic advice about your pet’s health and diet? She can help! See Dr. Morgan’s Phone Consultations or visit the forum to get more detailed information about your pet!
