Dr Judy’s Guests This Week
Broadcasts Weekly Monday & Tuesday 7am & 7pmET
A Passion for Natural Healing
This week, Dr. Judy welcomes holistic veterinarian and fellow author, Dr. Odette Suter DVM joining us from Island Lake, Illinois. Born in Switzerland, her love for horses – and animals in general – would nurture a passion for healing, leading her to veterinary school there where she graduated in 1994. Early on, Dr. Suter recognized the limitations of conventional medicine and questioned its role in true healing. She researched and pursued holistic and functional medicine, including but not limited to Chinese Medicine, Veterinary Spinal Manipulation and Chiropractic Neurology, Applied Kinesiology, NAET (alternative method for treating allergies and related disorders) and other natural healing methods. Dr. Suter owns the Peak Animal Health Center where she offers intensive training programs, combining holistic treatment and teaching to educate clients on creating longevity for their animals. She authored the international best-selling book What Your Vet Never Told You – Secrets to Supporting Peak Health for Your Animal and created a video training course called Animal Longevity Secrets Revealed. Tune in to hear Drs. Judy and Suter discuss how her deep desire to understand animals and the gift they bring moved her to relocate to the US where she expanded her knowledge to include animal communication, veterinary acupuncture, nutrition and other energy healing modalities.
Exceptional Behavior is in All of Us
Once again, Dr. Judy’s sister, Sally Morgan, PT, CST, renowned specialist in holistic physical therapy for pets, will guest host the Naturally Healthy Pets radio show this week. Sally is a pioneer in Craniosacral therapy for animals, an advanced Tellington TTouch practitioner, Reiki master, Vibrational healer, manual therapy expert and bestselling author of Dances of the Heart–Connecting With Animals and the accompanying Animal Connection cards. She travels to teach and lives in Massachusetts with her corgi Trystan. Visit her at www.SallyMorganPT.com, on Facebook at Sally Morgan PT CST, and on YouTube at Conversations With A Corgi.
This week, Sally welcomes internationally renowned author, surgeon and speaker, Dr. Bernie Siegel, retired from practice as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Yale. Dr. Siegel (who prefers to be called Bernie) and his late wife and coworker Bobbie, settled outside of New Haven, Connecticut where they raised five children. Bernie’s first book, Love. Medicine & Miracles in 1986, was followed by many others including Buddy’s Candle, Smudge Bunny and his new book Love Animals and Miracles. Among his other extraordinary achievements, Bernie originated Exceptional Cancer Patients (ECaP) which is a specific form of individual and group therapy utilizing patients’ drawings, dreams, images and feelings. It’s based on “carefrontation,” – a safe, loving therapeutic confrontation, which facilitates personal lifestyle changes, personal empowerment and healing of the individual’s life. The physical, spiritual and psychological benefits, which followed, led to his desire to make everyone aware of their own healing potential. This is a rare opportunity to hear how Bernie has touched many lives all over our planet. From talking about patient empowerment and the choice to live fully and die in peace to counseling innumerable people whose mortality has been threatened by an illness, you’ll learn how Bernie embraces a philosophy of living and dying that stands at the forefront of the medical ethics and spiritual issues our society grapples with today. Tune in to hear Sally and Bernie talk about all this as well as his continued efforts in breaking new ground in the field of healing. See www.BernieSiegelMD.com and follow him on Facebook for more details.
Dr. Morgan grew up in Pitman and Woodstown, NJ, where she graduated high school as valedictorian in 1977. In 1980 she graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Science and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Morgan is also a certified and accredited veterinary acupuncturist, chiropractitioner, and food therapist.
Based in southern New Jersey, Dr. Morgan currently operates two veterinary hospitals that offer an integrative approach combining holistic medicine with traditional Western techniques. Holistic practices such as chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal therapy, are utilized alongside conventional medicine to provide a full range of veterinary treatment.
The ability to utilize both kinds of therapies offers her clients many more options than using a single method of healing. In many cases, using this approach also allows earlier identification and treatment of impending problems.
Outside of the office Dr. Morgan spends much of her time working with Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and English Toy Spaniel rescue groups by assisting in finding, transporting, and fostering neglected animals. She is Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for Monkey’s House dog hospice and senior sanctuary. She also enjoys public speaking and giving presentations at local and national continuing education venues.
