Dr Judy’s Guests This Week

Monday 7am/7pmET

Keep the Tail Wagging®

This week’s show promises to be both fun and educational as Dr. Morgan welcomes her friend, fellow blogger, author, dog-Mom and raw feeder, Kimberly Morris Gauthier, coming to us from Portland, Oregon.  In her book, “A Novice’s Guide to Raw Feeding for Dogs”, Kimberly shares her experience as a raw feeder and how it resolved many health and behavioral issues with her dogs.  Her popular blog is all about Dr. Ian Billinghurst’s BARF model of raw feeding, dog supplements and raising littermates, with a goal to share an alternative to commercial dog foods with those who are interested.  Her Facebook page and website happily proclaim My Dogs Eat Better Than I Do., which is something many of us can attest to ourselves.  In addition to her blog, Kimberly’s website, KeepTheTailWagging.com is a wealth of raw feeding information and recipes, as well as listings of raw food co-ops and discounts available to you.  Kimberly’s website also provides in depth information on the challenges of raising littermates and how she avoided littermate syndrome with her two sets of pups.  So if you think you already know a lot about raw feeding, you’ll want to be sure to tune in to hear Dr. Morgan and Kimberly dive more deeply into the subject.  Who knows, we may even learn how we too can eat as well as we feed our dogs!

This Velvet is for You!

This is going to be an unforgettable show as Dr. Morgan welcomes this week’s guest, Barry Cuttance, all the way from Down Under in Oxford, New Zealand.  You’ve all heard Dr. Morgan speak of Deer Antler Velvet, the wonderful natural holistic supplement, traditionally regarded as a powerful rejuvenating tonic with extraordinarily wide-ranging properties.  For those of you using her deer antler velvet products, you have Barry to thank for reaching out to her to bring this wonderful product for our pets to the US.   You see, Barry is a deer farmer who developed his own velvet capsules for humans when his son, a former rugby-player, seriously injured his ankle.  In addition to restored ankle functionality 4 months sooner than predicted, his son also fully recovered from his psoriasis, which he’d endured since childhood.  This led Barry to become a believer and he gave up a career on the sea to begin marketing deer antler velvet.  Before this, his Oxford farm had been a sideline business to which he was now dedicated full time.  Barry was ready enter the US market and he reached out to Dr. Morgan to partner with him to do so – a partnership for which we are forever grateful!  This is a show you won’t want to miss, so be sure to tune in as Dr. Morgan and Barry discuss both current and future “velvet” offerings and how they can benefit our pets and ourselves.

Dr. Morgan grew up in Pitman and Woodstown, NJ, where she graduated high school as valedictorian in 1977. In 1980 she graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Science and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Morgan is also a certified and accredited veterinary acupuncturist, chiropractitioner, and food therapist.

Based in southern New Jersey, Dr. Morgan currently operates two veterinary hospitals that offer an integrative approach combining holistic medicine with traditional Western techniques. Holistic practices such as chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal therapy, are utilized alongside conventional medicine to provide a full range of veterinary treatment.

The ability to utilize both kinds of therapies offers her clients many more options than using a single method of healing. In many cases, using this approach also allows earlier identification and treatment of impending problems.

Outside of the office Dr. Morgan spends much of her time working with Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and English Toy Spaniel rescue groups by assisting in finding, transporting, and fostering neglected animals. She is Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for Monkey’s House dog hospice and senior sanctuary. She also enjoys public speaking and giving presentations at local and national continuing education venues.

Do you live out of the area but would love to receive holistic advice about your pet’s health and diet? She can help! See Dr. Morgan’s Phone Consultations or visit the forum to get more detailed information about your pet!
