For the Love of Seniors

This is going to be a wonderful show as Dr. Judy is once again joined by her husband Hue to talk about something that each of us will experience as our pets age – life with senior pets. As you know, Dr. Judy and Hue have rescued many puppy-mill “discards” who have comfortably grown into their teens despite heart disease, arthritis and breed-specific issues to which their spaniels are predisposed. It’s no surprise that senior dogs have different care requirements than their younger counterparts and this is your chance to learn about managing their needs. At what age is your pet considered a senior? Are there breed and size considerations that affect how you treat them? Perhaps you’re thinking about adopting an older rescue but unsure how to support mobility issues or even proper feeding if they have few teeth. You have only to look at the happy Breakfast with Spaniels pack to know all these concerns can be dealt with to ensure their quality of life is the best it can be. This is absolutely the show you’ll want to tune in to as Dr. Judy and Hue discuss what you can do – for the love of your seniors.

BIO: Judy Morgan DVM, CVA, CVCP, CVFT

Dr. Morgan grew up in Pitman and Woodstown, NJ, where she graduated high school as valedictorian in 1977. In 1980 she graduated from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Science and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Dr. Morgan is also a certified and accredited veterinary acupuncturist, chiropractitioner, and food therapist.

Based in southern New Jersey, Dr. Morgan currently operates two veterinary hospitals that offer an integrative approach combining holistic medicine with traditional Western techniques. Holistic practices such as chiropractic, acupuncture, food therapy, and herbal therapy, are utilized alongside conventional medicine to provide a full range of veterinary treatment.

The ability to utilize both kinds of therapies offers her clients many more options than using a single method of healing. In many cases, using this approach also allows earlier identification and treatment of impending problems.

Outside of the office Dr. Morgan spends much of her time working with Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and English Toy Spaniel rescue groups by assisting in finding, transporting, and fostering neglected animals. She is Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for Monkey’s House dog hospice and senior sanctuary. She also enjoys public speaking and giving presentations at local and national continuing education venues.

Do you live out of the area but would love to receive holistic advice about your pet’s health and diet? She can help! See Dr. Morgan’s Phone Consultations or visit the forum to get more detailed information about your pet!
