03-31-22 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #484 is an hour of visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band featuring Mariam Massaro on vocals, ukulele, acoustic guitar, shruti box and Native flute, Bob Sherwood on piano and tabla and Craig Harris on congas and Native drums. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in March of 2022, today’s show begins with the meditative raga “Beautiful Rays” led by Mariam’s shruti box before easing into the mystical, mysterious “Precious Is The Day”, a languid piece with a fine vocal from Mariam in honor of Ukraine. “Say Hello To Spring’s Light” is as skipping, ‘50s-influenced song with an evocative vocal from Mariam and imaginative piano work from Bob and “All I Want To Do Is Live In A Pool Of Love” is a lovely, languid meditation characterized by a conversation between Mariam’s inspired vocal and Native flute work. “Sunset Moonlight” is a beautiful ballad led by Mariam’s chiming 8-string ukulele and “May We Live In Harmony” is a foundational prayer underpinned by Craig’s elemental native drum heartbeat and a trance-like piano ostinato from Bob. “A Hello To Humanity” today’s closer, is a deeply uplifting folk ballad in a skipping waltz time with a leaping melody from Mariam above Bob’s playful piano.
