05-31-18 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #308 features an hour of songs by Mariam Massaro and visionary acoustic improvisation from the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, native flute, ukulele, acoustic guitar and dulcimer, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and percussion.  Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s show begins with Mariam’s entrancing “Ruby Red”, a lush, elegiac and languid reflection on a hummingbird featuring imaginative vocals from Mariam and angular gospel piano from Bob.  “Taking The Time” continues the unhurried pace of “Ruby Red” with an added psychedelic slant that takes us into a cool, misty night.  A long, lyrical, echo-treated native flute solo from Mariam enchants at the top of the mystical soul number “Let’s All Revive Believing” and a chiming dulcimer leads the way into the beautiful “Blessed By Our Life”, a breathtaking prayer full of joy and gratitude.  We finish today with the aching, soulful “It’s Gonna Be All Right”, a song of hope built on an aching, cyclical piano motif and Mariam’s impassioned vocal.
