03-01-18 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #297 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in February 2018 and is an hour of visionary improvisational music and songs by Mariam Massaro. Featured are Gaea Star Band members Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, dulcimer, percussion, acoustic guitar and ukulele and Bob Sherwood on piano, congas and drums. We begin with Mariam’s “Into The Crystala”, a lovely, mystical meditation led by Mariam’s native flute and is an invitation to reflection in the deep places. “Are We Going Back?” poses questions about progress and advancement at the price of our humanity with a sprightly, lush backing of piano and ukuelele and “Hippocanthus and Eugenia” stands as a highlight among Mariam’s animal tales, this time about an orphaned hippopotamus and the cat the mothers him back to happiness! “Sing A Healing Song For All Nations” is a lush, languid folk song led by Mariam’s acoustic guitar that celebrates reflection in nature. We then transition into the driving energy of today’s closer, the energized “May We Soothe It All”.
