02-15-18 This week on Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #296 the Gaea Star Band features acoustic visionary improvisation and songs by Mariam Massaro with Mariam on vocals, celtic harp, native flute, acoustic 6 and 12 string guitars and ukulele, Craig Harris on congas and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today’s session, recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts begins with the sparse, prayerlike “Always Begin At The Beginning” featuring hypnotic piano figures under a lovely vocal from Mariam. “I Feel It In My Bones” is a languid, winterbound reverie with a striking eastern psychedelic feel based around Mariam’s Martin acoustic 12-string guitar tuned to the DADGAD tuning. “Let’s Sing To The Faces In The Clouds” is a deeply beautiful, aching song featuring a lush and affecting piano figure over Mariam’s steady minor chords on ukulele. The main balladry of the piece gives in the fierce rock and roll with Craig’s congas driving the groove as Bob cuts loose on piano. “Every Moment” closes this week’s show with a languid, mystical vibe enhanced by electronics and a gorgeous vocal from Mariam.
