05-26-16   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #216 at Singing Bridge Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, baritone ukulele, dulcimer and native flute, Dameron Midgett on mandolin, banjo, didjeridoo and nylon-string guitar, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and marimba.  Today’s first piece is Mariam’s uplifting “Celebrating Everything” featuring sensitive flute and a series of yearning, simple piano movements.  “Happy May Day” is a joyful paen to spring with fine mandolin from Dameron weaving with Mariam’s uke.  The bittersweet “All Our Memories” has a thoughtful, nostalgic lyric that spirals upward triumphantly into an open, generous groove.  “Let’s Sail On The Ocean Of Love” is airy and wistful and features banjo from Dameron that floats above an electronics-washed, treated rhythm track that yields to an evocative conversation between Mariam’s vocal and her stately native flute. “We’ve Only Just Begun” praises the visionary campaign of Bernie Sanders.
