12-04-14 “Today on Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #142 we welcome the return of Dameron Midgett, joining Mariam and Bob with his mandolin and didjeridoo. Congas player Craig Harris of the Gaea Star Band also brings his groove to the first half of the show. We begin with a concise and delicate reading of Mariam’s “Sail On” from the Vision Quest album which features a sensitive piano solo from Bob Sherwood and a lovely vocal from Mariam. “Praise”, a Native American-flavored improvised song follows, featuring an anthemic refrain and Australian native tones from Dameron’s didjeridoo. Taking us to the break is a new song from Mariam called “Safe Harbor”, a wandering minor ballad filled with images of the sea and the shore. After the break Mariam picks up the ukelele for a pretty, peaceful new folk number about early winter called “First Snow” that weaves through several delicate light and dark variations before we sign off with native flute and drums on a funked-up, mandolin-driven “One More Day”.”
