The Gaea Star Crystal Band #108

04-10-14 “The Gaea Star Crystal Band #108 introduces some interesting, astringent and mysterious tonalities as Mariam Massaro and Tom Fair work with alternative tunings and drone textures against Bob Sherwood’s polychromatic piano work.  This mid-March episode opens with a textural exploration called “Ides of March” and flows into the evocative “Crow Moon” which features parallel polychords that define the unsettled motion of the harmony and bring to mind the full moon of late winter.  Mariam’s “Hold Me Close” is arranged on the spot, and we also feature “Open The Way” and the improvised “Pray”.
