03-25-19  Personalized Medicine is Better Medicine

This week, Dr. Judy welcomes Fred Dijols, CEO and Vinnie Dam, Director of Pharmacy – the co-founders of New York-based Mixlab, a veterinary compounding pharmacy.  Fred, with a long career in the healthcare industry, joins us from New York where he lives with his wife Francesca, their son Quinton and Bob the pug.  His certifications include an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MSc from Stanford University.  Vinnie, the Director of Pharmacy, earned his PharmD and MS from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles.  He has over a decade of experience compounding medications for both pets and humans as a pharmacist.  A Brooklyn resident, he is the proud pet parent to his beloved Klee Kai, Sophie, and his frisky Abyssinians, Cooper and Dexter.  His pharmacy expertise and love for animals inspired him to found Mixlab with the goal of providing the best care possible for all patients.  Sharing a strong belief that personalized medicine is better medicine, Fred and Vinnie teamed up to create Mixlab with facility that was purpose-built from the ground up with the latest compounding technology, enabling effortless provision of expertly-mixed medications of the highest quality to all.  While you may not live in New York, you’ll want to learn more as Dr. Judy, Fred and Vinnie discuss the benefits of compounding medicines and how to find a pharmacy that can provide similar services for you.
