06-27-18 How Small Steps Change the World
You may know the timeless question; How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. But do you know how true that really is? In live, in everything we do, always, always, make the effort. Because taking small steps along the way is life changing and makes a BIG difference!
After I had my first baby I was 10 lbs. up. No big deal, I was nursing and exhausted and working and juggling everything and 10 lbs. was no big deal. I was still teaching fitness classes, I wasn’t worried.
Thirteen months later I got pregnant with my second. After having him, I was 6 lbs. up. I had a newborn and a toddler and I was nursing and working and REALLY exhausted and 6 lbs. was no big deal because I was still teaching fitness.
Except that it was a big deal. It was a total of 16 lbs. and I didn’t look or feel like me. I joined Weight Watchers and I lost 16 lbs.
Between 2001 and 2018, there have been three other times where I’ve been 10 lbs. up, have hit panic, and have worked to lose it.
It was hard to get back on track. it was hard to make the effort and stay committed, but it wasn’t THAT hard because it was only 10 lbs.
THINK WHERE I WOULD BE IF I HAD NOT MADE THE EFFORT.
16 lbs plus, 10 plus 10 plus 10 equals 46 lbs. BEING 46 POUNDS HEAVIER WOULD BE SIGNIFICANT AND THAT WOULD HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE!
Losing it along the way was a TINY effort that made a HUGE difference that SIGNIFICANTLY impacted the course of my life, my health, my sense of self and even my relationships.
So, no matter what – family, relationships, jobs, personal growth, adventure, dreams or bodies – MAKE THE EFFORT!
