12-16-21 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #472 was recorded on a cold, still November afternoon at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts and is an hour of visionary improvised acoustic music played live by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on Native flute, vocals, acoustic guitar, Celtic harp and 4- and 8-string ukuleles, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drums.  Today’s first song is the gentle, powerfully contemplative “Through The Open Window”, a wistful, beautiful farewell to November built on Mariam’s chiming Celtic harp and a bittersweet, persistent piano figure from Bob.  “The Portal Is Waiting” is a deeply mystical, swirling, pleasantly disorienting piece with an inspirational lyric from Mariam over Craig’s heartbeat pulse and Bob’s dancing piano, and “Let The Voice Of Creation Sing” is as powerful folk song of unity and connection driven by Mariam’s steady, driving acoustic guitar.    The band picks up the intensity and tempo for the lovely “Treasures” led by Mariam on her baritone ukulele.  “Dance It” remains in the folk vein, a chiming song with a powerful underpinning from Craig on congas under Mariam’s dancing ukulele.  Mariam deploys the delicate, chiming tones of her 8-string ukulele for the lovely, musically naïve “Are You Following The River Of Life?”, a gorgeous, powerful and fundamental song decorated with Mariam’s Native flute.
