01-07-21 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #425 is an hour of visionary acoustic improv music by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, harmonica, ukulele and acoustic 6- and 12-string guitars, Robin Rooney on djembe, percussion and vocals, Bob Sherwood on piano and bass guitar, Craig Harris on congas and native drums and special guest Dagen Julty on flute, bass guitar and piano. Today’s show was recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts in December 2020 and begins with the lovely, bucolic folk song “When Was The Last Time” a lovely meditation underpinned by steady drumming from Craig and Robin and fine bass playing from Dagen. “Wind Over the Water” is a driving raga with a compelling, driving tempo and “Puffy White Pillows” is a meditative song about a snowy day with a shifting minor/major modality. “Keep On Sailing” is mystical piece driven by Mariam’s ukulele and decorated with beautiful, mysterious flute from Dagen. “Oh The Magnificence” is a gentle minor meditation celebrating a peaceful winter evening. “I’m The Full Moon” and “Back Us Up Oh Angels” are tight, driving renditions from Mariam’s “Gaea Star Goddesses” and “Gaea Star Crystal” albums and today’s closer, the eccentric, pretty “Full Moon Part II” is a classic Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour track from 2013.
