09-24-20 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #411 is an hour of visionary acoustic improvisation by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, ukulele, shrudi box and native flute, Robin Rooney on djimbe, percussion and vocals, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s hour begins with the driving folk rock of “Dancing In The Leaves”, a powerful rocker driven by a wall of percussion and Mariam’s powerful uke strumming. “Into My Heart” is a beautiful, gentle ballad, an ode to self-regard and the return to ones’ self. Featuring a beautiful, circular piano motif from Bob, the piece floats with a gentle pathos. “Illuminate The World” is a powerful, assertive rocker with a driving lyric from Mariam, and “Free Up The Good Ways” is a mystical raga based around Mariam’s droning shrudi box featuring powerful vocals and imaginative piano. Mariam leads “Where Are The Light Ones?” with gentle, floating acoustic guitar and “I Love To Watch The Moon Rising” is a peaceful, evocative evening song with a drifting, deeply spiritual vocal from Mariam.
