Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour was taped in mid-July 2019 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts and features songs by Mariam Massaro and visionary acoustic improvisation from the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, native flute, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Craig Harris on congas and drums and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today’s first piece is the minimalist groove “I’m Gonna Find My Way” that features a driving, funky rhythm section from Bob and Craig and inspired lyrics and flute passages from Mariam. Mariam picks up her eight string ukulele for the outstanding folk ballad “Let’s Draw Down Our Dreams”, a gorgeous, flowing piece with a lush melody and bittersweet piano. “”All In The Light” is a misty, mystical minor ballad with a classical heart wrapped in progressive minimalism and an evocative melody from Mariam. “Under The Blue Canopy Of Life” is a prayer to a lush, wet summer day and “Divine Mother” is a gorgeous, windswept ballad featuring chiming acoustic guitar from Mariam. We finish with a triad of classics from Mariam’s albums, the romantic “Your Eyes Shine” medleyed with the inspirational “Reborn”, “Spirit Of Fire”, “You’re The One” and “To The Beings Of Light”.
