Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour is an hour of visionary improvisational acoustic music and songs by Mariam Massaro featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, celtic harp, native flute, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Craig Harris on congas and native drums and Bob Sherwood on piano. Today’s first piece “The Castle Of Our Dreams”, is a minimalist groove featuring lyrical native flute from Mariam and a hip afro-cuban rhythm section from Bob and Craig. “The Golden Light Within” begins with a native flute fanfare from Mariam and a call to unity that sweeps into a lush piano-and-flute duet and “Melody Of Light” is a sweet, languid ballad led by Mariam’s acoustic guitar and folky melody. “Mesmerize Me” is a mystical, echoing ballad of surpassing peace and beauty, a soft song of release and acceptance that lands like new snow in a silent winter forest. Another lush, mysterious ballad follows, the languid “Following”, again led by Mariam’s liquid, languid flute and a lyric in praise of the magical crystals of Gaea Star. We conclude today’s lush, reverent, peaceful hour of music with the floating “Silver Moonlight Night”, a meandering, pretty tone poem led by Mariam’s crystalline celtic harp.
