Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour was taped live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts and features songs and acoustic visionary improvisation from the Gaea Star Band and special guest vocalist and percussionist Sondra Lewis. Featuring Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, celtic harp, acoustic guitar and ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums, today’s show begins with the lush, atmospheric “The Mighty Wisdom Channel” driven by an evocative vocal from Mariam and hypnotic backup vocals and guiro from Sondra. “Waves Of Love” begins in a minimal, earthy space with heartbeat native drumming from Craig and Mariam’s elemental native flute and vocals. The intensity increases throughout with a lovely tension between Bob’s classically inflected piano and the native flute and drumming. “In Due Time We Are All Going Home” is a beautiful, mystical atmospheric piece built around Mariam’s celtic harp trills and electronically treated piano from Bob. Once again a build in intensity creates a lush, expansive experience with mesmeric piano and steady congas holding the frame for Mariam’s expressive melody and spoken words. “Seize The Opportunity” is a light, ragtime-influenced folk piece with a message of resilience from Mariam and lovely echoing vocals from Sondra. “As Far As The Eye Can See” wraps up today’s show with more gorgeous, expressive native flute from Mariam over a backdrop of evocative piano that visits and revisits several themes.
