06-23-16   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #220 comes to you live from Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, MA and features Mariam Massaro, Dameron Midgett, Craig Harris and Bob Sherwood of the Gaea Star Band.  We begin with the delicately textured “Sharaiya, Gardener Of Delight”, driven by Mariam’s celtic harp and lovely, circular melody.  “Welcome To The Soaking Rain” is a reprise of the themes of “Sharaiya”, hypnotic and uplifting.  “Always Going Home” is a somber meditation that extends the theme of water with a lyric devoted to rivers and a steady pulse from Craig’s congas and Mariam’s baritone ukulele.  Mariam’s “Flowers Of Delight” is a reprise of a song played on the show a couple of years ago and remembered for its mystical, somber beauty.  “Flowers Of Delight” culminates with Mariam’s beautiful native flute work and evocative mandolin from Dameron.  “Chickadee’s Freedom” is a minor-key meditation that grows in intensity as it tells the tale of a bird rescued from a cat.  Dameron unleashes some subterranean didjeridoo drones for today’s closer, the eastern-influenced ballad “Sacred Sounds” which is also characterized by Bob’s mesmerizing piano and a mysterious sacred melody from Mariam.
