06-02-16   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #217 features The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, baritone ukelele and acoustic guitar, Dameron Midgett on banjo, nylon-string guitar, didjeridoo and mandolin, Craig Harris on congas and marimba and Robert Sherwood on piano.  First up today is Mariam’s tale “Dragon Dream”, an adventure set to a mesmerizing, minimalist groove.  “For The Ways To Change Deep Within” is a pretty folk ballad featuring a floating, major-minor framework and a lovely vocal from Mariam.  “Frangipani Flower Gardens” is a majestic, mystical piece built around steady piano arpeggios and Mariam’s dreamy dulcimer and native flute.  “I Want To Dig In The Dirt” evokes the pleasures of childhood with an unsouciant spirit.  Today’s final piece “Celebrating The Truth of Love and Peace” is a tribute to Bernie Sanders set to a folky, minor bed of Dameron’s mandolin and Mariam’s acoustic guitar.
