Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #192

12-03-15   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #192 is recorded in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks of November 2015 and extends prayer and sympathy to the victims as well as exploring and questioning conflict and violence.  We begin with “What Do They Really Want”, a somber reflection on the attack featuring Mariam Massaro on native flute and vocals, Dameron Midgett on singing bowls and didjeridoo, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas.  Next up is the celebration of “Peace Raining Down Everywhere”, a lighter piece driven by Mariam’s acoustic guitar.  “I’m Gonna Climb The Mountain Of Life” extends a message of hope from Mariam and includes driving and imaginative marimba from Craig and lively, percussive dulcimer from Mariam.  Mariam returns to acoustic guitar for the closer “Nebula”, a mysterious, modal exploration of color, light and motion.
