Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #122

07-17-14 “Gaea Star Crystal #122 is a heat-hazed summer reverie featuring Mariam Massaro on guitars, ukelele and vocals, Sondra Lewis on percussion and vocals, Craig Harris on congas, Tom Fair on nashville guitar and banjo and Bob Sherwood on piano and percussion.  We begin with a spacious, beautiful tone poem we’ll call “Summer Solstice Time” that floats like a June mist and features an evocation of summer from Mariam.  We float into a new song/improv from Mariam called “Experience Of Bliss” and return from the break with a beautiful, distinctive take of “Sing Down The Walls” by Mariam and Kri Blozie featuring gorgeous harmonies from Sondra.  Mariam’s “Open The Way” swings nicely with a steady, percussive groove and takes it’s leave with an echo-driven percussion improv.  A groovy, lazy reprise of the “Solstice” theme billows away on a June gust.”
