Thoughts from Cove Queen Janine Sullivan, Host of New Radio Show The Road:
I love being a part of the Dreamvisons 7 Radio Network. The idea of having such a large platform to speak from and to be a conduit for change thrills me.
It is exciting to be among hosts who have a wide array of views and practices which they offer as tools to lift people up and pull positive energies forward.
A few years ago I had the joyous pleasure of meeting one of the DV7N host, Linda Tucker. While were were together she became acutely aware of a sort of oppression that prevails in my community. There is a heaviness and anxiousness that can be sensed relatively easily. It is a strong dynamic. Later she thanked me for holding up the light in an area that is so dense. I was humbled by the validation of what I had seen and what I was trying to accomplish.
I see myself as a weaver of people and one who builds bridges that close perceived gaps. I like the idea of uniting people and finding common ground where seeds are planted.
We don’t have to think alike, act alike or live exactly as others do. It is within our unique difference the commonality exist, compassion, love, peace.
Today I met someone and we briefly talked about ‘who we sit down with at the table.’ She said she with a giggle, “I won’t sit down with a hooker.” I said, I’ve served coffee to hookers and pimps and it was a homeless man whose wisdom turned my negative perspective completely around. I added that we never really know who we are standing near or sitting with at the table of life. We can not fully see into the heart and soul of another. Therefore we cannot be all together certain of their journey.
What we can do is see our face in their face. We can see the Creator in everyone. From there we can sit and enjoy, hold light and lead. We can reach out, take a hand and say, where shall we go from here?
Both my first and second show The Road with Cove Queen Janine dealt with difficult subjects, neurological disease and addiction. I like to stand in the mud and hold up the light. That is were I feel most useful.
With that I can say that my time with DV7N is going to be extraordinary. I am humbled and excited to be able to do what I do in this way.
There are so many opportunities to brace the cracks and embrace the tired.
Each of us has a unique gift, perfect for holding light, healing the broken, lifting the weary, creating peace and most of all growing love.
