BIO: Connie Bramer is author of “How Connie Got Her Rack Back,” Founder & President of Get Your Rack Back Inc., a not for profit organization, and is a Finance & Insurance Consultant in the automotive industry. Connie grew up on the Sacandaga Lake, NY and has been residing in Clifton Park, NY for the past 18 years. She has two teenagers, Alyssa, 18 and Alex 17, a rambunctious yellow lab named Callie and a spitfire Shorkie named Milo.
Connie is a graduate of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. She grew up in the car business as her parents owned several new car franchises over the course of their 40 years in the business. After graduating from college, Connie began working in the family business; maintaining positions in every facet of the dealership. Over the course of her 27 years in the automotive industry, Connie has spent many years on the retail side of the business, as an automotive lender for a large bank and several years as a national trainer for a financial services provider in the industry. That experience coupled with finance and management training, led Connie to a career as an F&I Consultant to automotive retailers.
She is also a breast cancer survivor who chronicled her journey in her memoir, “How Connie Got Her Rack Back;” a bold “in your face” look at cancer with a comical twist. In 2012, Connie began raising money for non-profits providing services to cancer patients before starting her own foundation, Get Your Rack Back (GYRB for short) in March 2015. Collectively, GYRB events have raised over $200,000 to provide assistance for cancer patients and cancer research; some funds donated to other not for profits, such as the American Cancer Society. Since 2015, funds raised by GYRB have provided meal delivery, grocery, gas and restaurant gift cards as well as physician/hospital co-pay assistance to 240 cancer patients in Upstate NY. GYRB has also stuffed and delivered over 1500 Christmas stockings to children affected by cancer in the last four years. Connie’s mission is for GYRB to assist one patient, one family at a time. She believes that everyone has the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
Connie is a featured contributor for the online magazine, BizCatalyst360.com, has appeared on the cover of HerLife NY magazine, has written several articles for Womenz Straight Talk Magazine and was awarded the Hyatt’s prestigious Portrait of Understanding Award for her work with cancer patients. Connie believes that laughter is the best medicine and writes about her everyday antics with a snarky sense of humor in her blog, The Humor of It All.
