The Gaea Star Crystal Radio Houris an hour of visionary improvised acoustic music recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, MA, and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, harmonica, native flute, acoustic guitar, ukulele and celtic harp, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and native drums. Today we also feature guest vocalist Brianna Kin and her sultry blues stylings. We begin today with the mystical “Sometimes”, a deep and psychedelic meditation on life that features Mariam’s lyrical native flute. “The Halls Of Knowingness” is a lush minor ballad led my Mariam’s acoustic guitar that celebrates the ancient wisdom and “Shenaiya” is a beautiful, mystical, swirling thing, a tale of a maiden who is called by an unknown presence from behind the walls of her castle. “Searching For My Soul” is a languid piano-led ballad punctuated by Mariam’s gorgeous native flute song and “We’re All Coming Down” leads onwards with bluesy vocal touches from Brianna and a Ray Charles-influenced blues structure. Today we finish with the beautiful, austere “We’re Grateful”, a mystical excursion led by Brianna’s soaring vocals.
