11-22-15    Leah Marie Welcomes Dr. Judy Miesner, DO to her show to discuss Osteopathic medicine, which incorporates more of a holistic approach to patients’ care.  She will share with us the differences of a Doctor of Osteopathy approach to treating patients along with her journey to help educate others in her field.

Dr. Miesner completed her undergraduate work at Concordia College in New York and received her Doctorate of Osteopathy from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. She completed her Internal Medicine residency program with UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester. She is a member of the American Academy of Osteopathy, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association among others.  Dr. Miesner practices at Hawthorn Medical Center in Dartmouth, MA.  She is a recipient of the National Committee for Quality Assurance Diabetic Physician Recognition award.

Dr. Miesner offers an extra dimension to your health care through osteopathic manipulation treatment (OMT). Instead of just treating specific symptoms, osteopathic physicians concentrate on treating you as a whole by using manipulative therapy that incorporates the whole body. OMT can help people of all ages ease pain, promote healing and increase mobility. To learn more about OMT, view these videos:
