09-23-21 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #460 is an hour of improvised acoustic music played live by Mariam Massaro on vocals, celtic harp, shruti box, Native flute, 8-string ukulele and acoustic 12-string guitar and Bob Sherwood on piano and tabla.  Recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s unusually relaxed and subtle series of songs begins with the relaxing and evocative “Oh The Rain”, a whispered tone poem underpinned by Mariam’s floating Celtic harp and expressive piano from Bob.  “Resonation” is a raga driven by Mariam’s alternately-tuned 12-string guitar, an exploration of peace and truth, and “Slip Through The Portal Of Light” is another drone-based exploration, this time built upon Mariam’s shruti box and Bob’s minimalist, subcontinental piano.  “Oh Mother (O Madre)” is a simple, beautiful folk song underpinned by chiming 8-string ukulele from Mariam and Bob’s open, expressive piano.  Featuring an intuitive, lovely melody from Mariam, this charming piece gives way to “We Call In The Elements” from the “Vision Quest” CD, presented powerfully and with a driving, elemental edge.
