10-18-18  Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #326

Recorded live at Singing Bridge Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in September of 2018 and features visionary acoustic improv from the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, celtic harp, percussion, ukulele, 12-string acoustic guitar and dulcimer, Bob Sherwood on piano and tabla and Craig Harris on congas and native drums.  We begin with the mystical, evocative “Ariana Shiasta”, a woodland tone poem featuring gorgeous native flute from Mariam and driven by Craig’s earthy, heartbeat native drumming.  Drawing from folk music and led by Mariam’s chiming 12-string Martin guitar, “I Hear The Rain” is a deeply affecting, bittersweet song about the cleansing, blessing rain and “Have You Listened To The Trees Today?” is a lush, gospel-tinged song of deep energy driven by prayerful piano and Mariam’s tenor ukulele, evoking peaceful nature.  Mariam strums her dulcimer to provide the backbone for the mystical, psychedelic, droning “So Many Changes”, an eastern-influenced drone piece with powerful tandem drumming from Craig and Bob.  Many movements and twists define this epic, varied piece of inspired improvisation which runs to an expansive 25 minutes!
