Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #195

12-24-15   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #195 features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitars, baritone ukulele, sitar and native flute, Craig Harris on congas and marimba, Robert Sherwood on piano and Dameron Midgett on didjeridoo, banjo, acoustic guitar and singing bowls.  We begin the show today with Mariam’s “Delightful”, a driving minor waltz featuring a compelling vocal from Mariam and a tireless, inventive piano part from Bob.  “Does It Make You Feel Good” is a hypnotic groove with a great message and beautiful native flute from Mariam.  “Shamayio” begins on an eastern harmonic arc and morphs into a minor blues featuring fine acoustic guitar work from Dameron, an assertive, reverent vocal from Mariam and a portentous, mysterious climax.  “Fanciful, Bountiful, Beautiful” is a light, chiming faerie waltz featuring Mariam’s celtic harp and a magical arrangement rounded out by Craig’s dancing marimba and Bob’s racing, high-register piano work.  We finish the hour with Mariam’s epic “Rohini Ma”, a spiritual tale featuring languid sitar, depth and mystery.
