10-16-14   “Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #135 features some very special musical guests.  Our main guest today is Nashville singer-songwriter Ali Sperry who joins us in the midst of her autumn tour. Featured are Ali’s “Me And The River”, “Not The One”, “Coast”, “January Moon” and “The Watcher”.  Ali is joined on guitar by her uncle Mark Fromm who fleshes out her work with a country-folk flair and some top-notch picking. The Gaea Star Band join Ali and Mark after the break for a trip through the classic rock songbook with unique takes on Smokey Robinson’s “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me”, Neil Young’s “Helpless” and a Joni Mitchell classic with Mariam Massaro burning up the D harmonica, Bob Sherwood on piano and Tom Fair on Nashville guitar.  Next up is a gorgeous Irish composition from the 17th century played by Mark Fromm on acoustic guitar. Also joining us from Switzerland is smoldering singer Iris Bieri who contributes a passionate a cappella “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”.  Closing out the show are the Gaea Star Band playing Mariam’s country waltz “Rays Of Light” and finally the beautiful, island-hopping “Shamiyaya”.
