06-19-14  “Gaea Star Crystal #118 starts with a thorough working-through of Mariam’s beautiful new summer anthem, “Flowers Of Delight” which takes us by surprise with its drifting, evocative beauty.  Mariam’s new “Lavender Lilacs” follows, another summer song which is altogether different with its light, whimsical flavor defined by a charmingly empty simplicity and Tom Fair’s folky banjo.  “One More Day” follows, as well as a summery reading of Mariam’s “Rooms Of Doubt” from her 2009 album “Gaea Star Crystal:  Awakening The Tribes Of Light”.  Tom Fair decorates the mystical improvisations “You Are At Peace” and “Rays Of Light, Rays Of Beauty” with flamenco-styled nylon-string and steel-string guitars and Mariam straps on the Martin 12-string acoustic for “So Many Veils” and we close with Mariam’s “Reflect The Light” propelled by Bob Sherwood’s driving percussion.
