09-08-22 Today the Gaea Star Band celebrates their 500th episode of The Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with a special hour of vibrant, visionary acoustic improvisational music and songs by Mariam Massaro.  Featuring Mariam on vocals, native flute, ukulele, acoustic guitar and shruti box, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on Native drums and congas, today’s show was recorded live in mid-August of 2022 at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts.  Today’s episode begins with the mystical “Goodbye Glory To August” featuring a poetic vocal from Mariam and lyrical ukulele and piano above Craig’s steady conga work.  “I Love The Way” is a gorgeous love ballad with a ‘50s feel and long, lush Native flute passages and “You Pull Me Through” explores another variation with a softer, more classical feel.  “At The End Of The River” is a raga built around Mariam’s shruti box drone and a minor eastern key on the piano.  Somber and evocative, the piece swirls around Mariam’s mystical lyrics.  We complete today’s very special show with two of Mariam’s songs, the “Smooth Sailin’ Love Songs” ballad “When You Touch Me” and from the “Vision Quest” album, the mesmerizing minor blues “Standing Ones Of Peace”.
