Synopsis: When Dorchelle was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, she wasn’t ready. She had a career, a teenage daughter, a husband managing a bustling law practice, three stepsons, and a chronically ill mother. What she needed was for the world to stop and give her a minute to breathe. It didn’t. Instead, it sent her onto the battlefield. To win, Dorchelle had to dig deeper than ever before to build a new type of foxhole. In it, she put family and friends, the voice of faith, and beautiful shoes. It was those things, together, that ultimately helped her survive.

Bio: Dorchelle Spence is an author, certified writing coach, and motivational speaker, lending her voice to topics ranging from self-advocacy and cancer survival to self-worth and the power of shoes. Her book, Into the Gathering Clouds, is a memoir of survival incorporating faith, friends, and finesse. The novel, No Less Worthy, tells the story of a girl fighting against the cycle of abuse and poverty to become a young woman who finds her worth through strength and perseverance. A seven-year survivor, Spence enjoys writing, international travel, arts festivals, and walks in nature.
