Artist Marie Chabot Bio: Marie is originally from North Attleboro, MA. She grew up taking dance, organ, clarinet, and voice lessons, and eventually added piano, and cello.She loved musical theater and became active in school drama productions and community theater, such as Attleboro Little Theater, and the Pawtucket Players. While a student at Elms College in Chicopee, MA, Marie began singing in local clubs and coffeehouses, performing her own songs and covers of singer/songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Janis Ian, and James Taylor. After college, Marie taught high school English for awhile, but eventually moved to Nashville, TN to pursue music. There, she performed at clubs such as the Fifth Quarter, Tempos, and The Nashville Palace. Eventually, an agent in Atlanta booked her for a 6 month gig in Okinawa, Japan, where she played piano and sang in the Lobby Lounge at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel. After that, she also performed in Sweden and Norway, and spent a summer playing at Casablanca’s in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Marie now lives back in her hometown of North Attleboro, where she teaches music at an elementary school in Taunton, and directs the music at Sacred Heart Church in Hopdale, MA.She also teaches private piano, organ, and guitar lessons, and is a vocal coach. In the summers, she is a teacher in the SMARTS summer institute, which is a summer program for kids, focusing on the arts.

Marie has three children who live with her in the house that used to belong to her maternal grandparents.
