Lisa Krikorian Wentzell is a full-time mom with a full-time career caring for Scotty, her special-needs son. Together with her husband, Scott, they are dedicated to assuring Scotty enjoys all that life has to offer. Everyone’s life journey is different, and although their family journey is challenging, Lisa triumphs in uncovering hidden joys. She feels blessed with loving and supportive family, friends, teachers, and community, and with amazing programs like Riding to the Top, Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation, Special Surfers, Best Buddies, Special Olympics, and Pine Tree Camp. Lisa’s empowering message in A Dog and His Boy is inclusion for children like Scotty. A professional graphic designer/illustrator, Claudia Diller has been enthralled by Maine’s mountains, farms, and the fishing communities of the coast and the islands ever since she summered in Skowhegan as a teenager over sixty years ago. Drawing on her life experiences rather than any formal training, her work is often a diary of the way she sees Maine and an attempt to preserve those places she finds unique and dear but nearly impossible to depict. Other times, her sketches are mental meanderings and musings as she contemplates her two beautiful children and three equally beautiful grandchildren, or thinks about weeding her gardens, hiking the mountains, skiing, or sailing off the coast. Diller has lived in Maine for over fifty years and currently resides in Kingfield, where she writes and illustrates a weekly blog and paints her annual art calendar and note cards. She has written and illustrated one book and illustrated four others.
