Be The Peace You Long For
Come to the moon with me and settle into comfy chairs. View our planet, our home. Be awed by her beauty – turquoise lagoons in Tahiti, elegant snow leopards in the Himalayas, awe-inspiring cloud formations, orchid-draped trees in the Amazon.
Since humans arrived, we’ve been enamored by our dualistic minds, which look through the lenses of good/bad, right/wrong, and them/us. This creates wars and untold heartache.
Looking down we see most people have clouds around their heads, cut off from the present moment. They don’t see the sacredness of every moment, particle, and being that lives here. They do harm to themselves, others, and the planet.
Thankfully more are waking up, becoming present for life, understanding that peace comes from knowing:
· We are in this together, living on our fragile planet.
· Although we have a rainbow of skin colors, different religions, socioeconomic levels and politics, we are all one.
· Every person deserves safety, respect, shelter, and sustenance.
· As Michelle Obama said, “Everyone on earth is carrying around an unseen history (betrayal, rejection, discounted), and that alone deserves some wise understanding.”
· That listening rather than war will bring the peace we long for.
As Einstein said: “Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
The invitation is to free yourself from your limited view by widening your circle of compassion, embracing all living creatures.
Then you will be the peace our planet needs.
