Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #249

02-09-17   Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #249 at Singing Bridge Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts and features the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, native flute, acoustic guitar, percussion and baritone ukulele, Craig Harris on congas and balaphone and Bob Sherwood on piano.  Today we also feature very special guest, singer-songwriter and guitarist Justus Conant playing some tracks from his albums “Going Coastal” and the brand-new “Snake Handlers And Gypsies.  We begin today with Mariam’s wonderful “Pacha Mama” from the “Gaea Star Goddesses” album featuring Mariam’s compelling vocals to which Justus adds his voice on the elemental chorus.  Next, Justus steps up with his maritime ballad “Buoy Ballad” as well as the powerful, aching “Snake Handlers and Gypsies” with Mariam on flute, Bob on piano and Craig on congas.  Next up, Mariam and Justus duet on 6- and 12-string guitars for Mariam’s floating, lush “Oh World, Let’s Heal Our Strife” with imaginative backing from Bob on piano and Craig on congas.  Justus steps up once again with the chiming, aching “Goodbye” from the “Going Coastal” album with Mariam adding lovely countermelodies.  Mariam’s epic “Festival Of The 7 Stars” develops from mystical ballad to a rocking world groove, all built around Mariam’s inspired, illuminated narrative.
