09-24-26 Transforming Teachers, Transforming Education with Rick Rood
Rick Rood has spent four decades working directly with children and education professionals in Out-of-School-Time programs. With degrees in School Age Care and Applied Mathematics, he brings both academic knowledge and hands-on experience to his workshops and presentations.
Rick has worked as a classroom teacher, afterschool program director, and has taught music, computer programming, and youth leadership. He is a published contributor to “Youth Today!” and author of “Games Teachers Play Before the Bell Rings.” As a Certified High Performance Coach™, Rick applies insights from thought leaders like Jack Canfield, Tony Robbins, and Brendon Burchard to help education professionals improve their practice.
Through his organization, Transforming Teachers, Transforming Education, Rick has delivered workshops and keynotes to thousands of education professionals across the country. His approach is grounded in Positive Youth Development philosophy and focuses on helping educators strengthen their effectiveness in serving young people and families.
Rick currently serves as Outreach and Professional Development Coordinator for the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement, working to promote love and safety in schools from early childhood through high school. In 2018, he and his team created the Beyond School Time Conference and served on the board of the California Afterschool Network for seven years.
