03-04-21 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #432 is an hour of visionary acoustic improvisational music featuring the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, Native flute and ukulele, Robin Rooney on vocals and djimbe, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drums. Today’s episode, recorded at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, Massachusetts in February of 2021, begins with the peaceful, lovely “Winter Beauty”, a lush and verdant song of winter praise. “Holding On To The Dream” is a groovy Afrocuban improv with funky congas and piano and “Oh, Here Comes The Snow” is a mystical, rain-soaked song led by Mariam’s silvery 8-string ukulele. “Flowers Of Delight” is a profoundly beautiful song from Mariam’s newly released “Release” album, and “Into The Night Realms” is a deep-night meditation led by an imaginative vocal from Mariam over her caressing acoustic guitar. We conclude with a trio of songs from Mariam’s albums, the compelling “Sail To The Realms”, the joyous Hawaiian song “Pele” and the deeply affecting “Sail On” from the Vision Quest cd.
