08-06-26 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #680 is another hour of inspired, dynamic visionary acoustic improv music brought to you by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, Native flute, double flute, mandolin, crystal bowl, acoustic guitar, ukulele and Celtic harp, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on djembe, congas and Native drum. Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington, MA in late July of 2026, today’s show begins with the swinging summer folk song “Celebrate Wonder”, a gently rocking number with a fine vocal and groovy congas. “Give Yourself Freedom To Be” is a mystical raga underpinned by Mariam’s crystal bowl drone and a deep, unhurried vocal-and-Native-flute dialogue and “Misty Clouds” is a beautiful minor ballad featuring calming vocals and acoustic guitar from Mariam atop tight congas and minimalist piano. “It’s A Miracle, This Life” is a sweeping, epic musical journey that travels smoothly through keys and moods, understated flute solos and powerfully emotive vocals and “Always The Same Beginning” is built on a drone of crystal bowl and shruti box that grows steadily in intensity and power, framing a powerful, reverent vocal from Mariam and throbbing Native drum. “If Only We Shine” is another fine, mystical ballad framing Mariam’s exotic double flute overtones and “You And I Together As One, Hearts Full Of Warmth Now” completes today’s show with driving work from the ensemble and a fine vocal from Mariam.
