07-23-26 Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #678 is an hour of visionary acoustic improvised music and songs by Mariam Massaro played by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam on vocals, Native and double flute, shruti box, Celtic harp, acoustic guitar, mandolin and ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum, Recorded live at Singing Brook Studio in Worthington Massachusetts in mid-July of 2026, today’s hour begins with the meditative “Rushing River Morning” a sparse, beautiful water prayer decorated with lyrical Native flute and imaginative piano. “Churning Earth Changes” is a dynamic, catchy pagan dance laid down by Mariam’s forest mandolin and skipping congas and “Carousel” is a fantastic epic tale with a compelling, slowly unfolding narrative vocal from Mariam and shifting, mystical textures. “Goals Of Manifestation” is a rich, dark tapestry with a lovely vocal, soaring Native flute and thrumming Native drum and “Into Boundless Beauty” is a stirring, swirling air led by Mariam’s chiming ukulele. “Did You Walk In The Forest?” begins with an echoing fanfare of overtone-producing double flute and swells into a sprawling, rich series of folk and classical movements supporting Mariam’s inspiring lyrics and we close today’s show with Mariam’s classic island song “Shamiyaya”, a reggae rocker with an uplifting vocal from Mariam and an easy, summery swagger from the ensemble.
