Larry Freeborg remembers the day vividly when he realized he was not powerless in the face of total despair and grief. It happened when he was in the “psych ward” after the death of his 39-year-old wife from leukemia, leaving him with four young children, right as his company eliminated his position with a 8% unemployment. BIO: Life as he knew it ended in a single week. Just after Christmas in 1979, Larry Freeborg lost his wife of 18 years. Suddenly, he was a widowed father of four with no income. What followed was not a quick journey but a decades-long journey of learning how to grieve, how to lead with love, and how to rediscover hope in the face of unimaginable loss.
